Buffy (and Xander) at their best: „Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered“

Screenshot „Buffy the Vampire Slayer“ S02E16

After posting my 20th anniversary tribute to „Buffy the Vampire Slayer“, I just encountered my favorite episode in the first two seasons (so far): „Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered“ – which starts with this cute dialog (in a graveyard):

Xander: Well, this is new territory for me. I mean, my valentines are usually met with heartfelt restraining orders.
Buffy: She’ll love it.
Xander: I wish dating was like slaying, you know? Simple, direct, stake to the heart, no muss, no fuss.
[Vampire shoots out of grave, attacks Xander, gets slayed by Buffy.]
Buffy: Sorry to say, Xand. Slaying is a tad more perilous than dating.
Xander: Well, you’re obviously not dating Cordelia.

Wikipedia’s synopsis:

In this episode, Cordelia breaks up with Xander after her friends mock her. Xander retaliates by attempting a love spell to „put her through the same hell“, and he gets a little more than he had bargained for.

My favorite movie of Filmfest Hamburg 2012 (blog post in German) is being streamed for free by German/French public broadcaster arte until Monday, March 23, 2017 (link to arte’s media library). Watch the trailer of „Searching for Sugar Man“, „the incredible true story of Rodriguez, the greatest ’70s rock icon who never was“ (Rotten Tomatoes):

Die Nutzerkommentare sind klasse:

So unscripted. Also im real life. Really authentisch.

Johnny Depp stars in hilarious Donald Trump parody (free movie)

with one comment

The Art of the DealFor those who (like me) missed it before: Check out the brilliant 50-minute Donald Trump parody „The Art of the Deal“ featuring Johnny Depp and guest stars like Ron Howard, Patton Oswalt, Henry Winkler, Alfred Molina, Christopher Lloyd, Stephen Merchant, Tim Robbins, Jack McBrayer and ALF („Donald stole my hair.“). The theme song is performed by Kenny Loggins, in nostalgic ’80s style.

The New York Post comments:

Doing a hilarious Donald Trump impression, Depp scores more laughs in his secret new online video, “Donald Trump’s The Art of the Deal: The Movie,” than in his last several comedies.

The Onion: „Judge Rules White Girl Will Be Tried As Black Adult“

This one is at least two weeks old, but I just found out about it through a Facebook „Like“ notice by Reginald Hudlin (whom I once visited in Harlem after he wrote and directed „House Party“ in 1990, featuring a cameo by George Clinton).

The Onion’s ’news‘ pieces often are just silly … but this piece of legal satire is scarily true:
