Looking Back at News Impact Summit Hamburg 2017: Tweets and Links (#NISHBR)

with one comment

As its past editions in Hamburg (2015) and Berlin (2016), European Journalism Centre’s News Impact Summit 2017 was an inspiring event with lots of great speakers. 180 editors, journalists, J-school students and media experts discussed the topic „Truth, Tech & Community: Building Bridges to Foster Journalism Innovation“. I had the pleasure of moderating the panel „Diversity Means…“ which was a nice follow-up to last Wednesday’s Dverse Media Pop-up at the SPIEGEL building.

I collected the most interesting tweets (hashtag: #NISHBR) and most helpful links:

200 journalists met for the fifth edition of the News Impact Summit in Berlin last week. The free media innovation event was organized by the European Journalism Centre (EJC) and the Google News Lab and focused on the theme “New Tools, Immersive Storytelling & Engagement”. Nine of the talks have been archived at Voice Republic. The next summit will take place in Helsinki/Finland on September 26, 2016.

IJF_small_19-04-_2015_16-22-11Judging from its Twitter feed (hashtag: #IJF15), the International Journalism Festival which was held in Perugia/Italy this weekend must have been a very interesting event. Unfortunately, I did not make it there – but I compiled the most widely shared and favorited tweets (with the help of Tame):

News Impact Summit in Hamburg

News Impact Summit in Hamburg

I visited the inspiring News Impact Summit in Hamburg yesterday, a media innovation event which is organised by the European Journalism Centre (EJC) in cooperation with the News Lab at Google. On the occasion of the book release of the „Verification Handbook for Investigative Reporting“, it focused on the theme “Verification, Investigation and Digital Ethics“ – mixing keynote speeches, ignite talks, panel discussions and training sessions with international experts. It will be followed by events in Paris (April 28), Madrid, London, Amsterdam, Warsaw and Prague later in the year which also will be free of charge (link to press release).
