As its past editions in Hamburg (2015) and Berlin (2016), European Journalism Centre’s News Impact Summit 2017 was an inspiring event with lots of great speakers. 180 editors, journalists, J-school students and media experts discussed the topic „Truth, Tech & Community: Building Bridges to Foster Journalism Innovation“. I had the pleasure of moderating the panel „Diversity Means…“ which was a nice follow-up to last Wednesday’s Dverse Media Pop-up at the SPIEGEL building.

Free-to-attend media innovation event that brings together international media experts with local news communities to focus on how new technology, tools and methods are changing the way journalists work in the newsroom.

#NISHBR), zu dem das European Journalism Centre (EJC) in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Google News Lab am Donnerstag, 29. Juni 2017, in die Katholische Akademie Hamburg einlädt (Herrengraben 4, 20459 Hamburg).

Das ganztägige Event, das komplett auf Englisch abgehalten wird, kostet keinen Eintritt. Über 250 Journalisten, Medientrainer und Journalistikstudenten treffen auf Experten, die sich in großen deutschen und internationalen Medienunternehmen mit Innovationen im digitalen Journalismus beschäftigen.

Looking Back at News Impact Summit Berlin: Tweets and Links (#NISBER)

200 journalists met for the fifth edition of the News Impact Summit in Berlin last week. The free media innovation event was organized by the European Journalism Centre (EJC) and the Google News Lab and focused on the theme “New Tools, Immersive Storytelling & Engagement”. Nine of the talks have been archived at Voice Republic. The next summit will take place in Helsinki/Finland on September 26, 2016.
